3 Ways to Be Social!
Ya’ll authors and illustrators test your comfort zone—be social! Public exposure boosts sales, social media, contact info, and promotes new releases.
Choose to work in public. Not only get out of your office but also receive unbiased input through public exposure. While working, discreetly display published books in your workspace. Readers will identify you as an author or illustrator at work.
Sign book orders in public. A true reader recognizes an author signing books. Have an extra book(s) on hand for the consumer to preview. Offer to personalize the book there. Use SquareUp reader or an app to capture the sale(s).
Take a selfie. Document the meeting by taking a selfie with your phone. Kindly offer to text or tag the person’s photo. Consumers appreciate being part of your social media tribe. By sending a text message, you capture a reader's contact information. Photo tags reach the consumer’s followers.
Need some extra exposure? Be social.
